Swinney May Lean on Freshmen Wide Receivers
Wesco and Moore to 'Play All Year'
Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said that freshman wide receivers Beaux Collins and Adam Randall will "play all year" in 2023. Swinney also praised the two freshmen's progress during spring practice.
Collins, a four-star recruit from Tampa, Florida, was a standout performer in Clemson's spring game, catching five passes for 57 yards. Randall, a three-star recruit from Cumming, Georgia, also impressed in the spring game, hauling in four passes for 48 yards.
Swinney's decision to play the two freshmen is a sign of confidence in their abilities. However, it also reflects the depth issues at wide receiver for Clemson. The Tigers lost their top three receivers from last season to the NFL Draft, and they have not yet found a clear-cut replacement for Justyn Ross.
If Collins and Randall can continue to impress in the fall, they could play a major role in Clemson's offense in 2023. The Tigers are looking to bounce back from a disappointing 10-3 season in 2022, and the two freshmen could be key pieces in their quest for a return to the College Football Playoff.
