Celtics Win Game 7 in Miami, 100-96
Led by Jayson Tatum's 26 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists, the No. 2 seed Boston Celtics defeated the No. 1 seed Miami Heat in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals, 100-96, to advance to the NBA Finals. The Celtics won the series 4-3 and will now face the Western Conference champion Golden State Warriors in a rematch of the 2022 NBA Finals.
Tatum was dominant throughout the game, scoring 12 of his points in the fourth quarter, including a key three-pointer with 2:30 remaining to give the Celtics a 95-91 lead. Jaylen Brown added 24 points, while Marcus Smart chipped in 20 points and 12 rebounds for the Celtics.
Jimmy Butler led the Heat with 28 points, followed by Tyler Herro's 21 and Bam Adebayo's 15. However, Butler struggled to find his rhythm in the second half, shooting just 2-for-11 from the field.
The Celtics' victory was a major upset, as the Heat had been favored to win the series. However, Boston played with great heart and determination, and ultimately deserved to advance to the NBA Finals.
